Moving to Turkey can seem daunting if you’re totally new to the country, after all you are going to experience a new language and an entirely new way of life which will include a minefield of paperwork and officialdom.
When relocating to Turkey you travel first as a visitor usually on an Evisa and then request locally for an extension of your stay, normally by applying for Turkish Residency.
At present these applications are valid from 1- 3 years, depending on your circumstances, and after eight years you can apply for permanent residence if you meet certain terms and conditions.
Rules, regulations and laws change regularly in Turkey and, for some, applying for residence can seem daunting. Requirements can differ from province to province; you need to provide various documents and the application itself must be completed online.
Here at the Foreign Citizens Advice Centre we can assist you every step of the way when applying for your residence whether it is a first-time application, renewal or a long-term application. We can also get competitive quotes for health insurance which you must have when taking Turkish residency.
The Centre is supported by an experienced team of paid staff and volunteers. The services of the Centre are funded by donations from residents and businesses, and at no time will the Centre make any charge for the advice it offers.
