Coronavirus travel advice

Every day I am being asked if it is safe to come to Turkey or will Turkey stop our home destinations to fly to the country.

I understand that many people are anxious about how this could affect their holidays.

New travel bans and advisories are being introduced on a daily basis making it very difficult to give accurate advice.

There is a lot of information on the internet and on social media, however, ensure that you check that you are getting this information from a trusted source. Someone asked me if I thought the situation will be worse in the summer or better, which countries will be safe, is it safe to fly; I am not qualified to answer these questions.

Yesterday The Daily Sabah reported that the Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Cahit Turhan has announced that Turkey is to suspend in-bound flights from nine additional countries – Germany, France, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands – until April 17.

It is advisable to check with your home government for information regarding travel. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/turkey

The FCO travel – travel advice from the Foreign Office are constantly updating information on their Facebook page as well.

For other countries you will find this information in your language on your government websites.

Another important factor is to make sure you have appropriate travel insurance.  The advice below is from
