Six countries no longer require visas to enter Turkey

Tourists from the United States, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Oman nationals will no longer require visas to spend up to 90 out of 180 days in Turkey.

On the 22nd December 2023 a presidential decree lifted Turkey’s visa requirements for these countries.

The decree was published in the Official Gazette dated Dec. 23 with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s signature.

In the past Turkey required the foreign nationals of these six countries to obtain an e-visa for tourism and trade purposes. At the time electronic visas cost between 61.50 to 78.50 US dollars depending on the applicant’s nationality.

According to Article 18 of the Turkish Law on Foreigners and International Protection, Turkey’s president holds the right to unilaterally lift visa requirements of certain nationals, implement visa convenience measures, and determine visa durations.
