About Us
Providing free, independent and confidential advice & support on all aspects of living, working, visiting, buying & selling property and investing in Turkey.
The services of The Foreign Citizens Advice Centre are given independently and in the strictest confidence. The Advice Centre is supported by an experienced team of paid staff and volunteers but, as the service is funded by donations from local residents and businesses, at no time will the centre make any charge for the advice it offers.
What is the role of The Advice Centre?
Established in 2005 and the only one of its kind in the country, The Foreign Citizens Advice Centre has been set up to assist qualifying foreign nationals with a comprehensive range of free advice and support. We can simply point you in the right direction or, if you prefer, guide you every step of the way.
Similar to Citizens Advice Centres in Western Europe, we receive support from the government in the form of tax relief. Our day-to-day running costs are met by charitable donations from local businesses and residents. To keep personnel costs down, our dedicated staff give some of their time as volunteers.
Our Mission
Our mission for the future is to create a greater awareness and understanding of our service so that we can help to provide guidance before a difficult situation crops up, rather than tackle a major problem later.

Ask if we can help...
Helpful, free advice & support on anything to do with day-to-day living anywhere in Turkey. A mixture of local and foreign advisers with extensive experience are available 24 hours a day.
Our team regularly assists local foreign residents in a wide variety of situations. Simple requirements such as making a will or applying for residence can be arranged in a single visit and usually without an appointment.
Making your money work for you.
Investing requires individual advice tailored to the investor’s requirements and aversion to risk. Talk to an adviser to understand the best way to make your money work for you in this vibrant economy. The GDP has tripled in the last ten years and interest rates in Turkey remain high compared to the rest of Europe.
Need more specialist help?
More complex matters such as dealing with the legalities of your property may need some time to sort out.
Serious matters such as death and divorce will probably also require good sound advice from a legal professional such as a lawyer. Don’t worry if the latter applies to you as we have access to a panel of suitably qualified lawyers to cater for every situation. If you request, we can also follow the progress of your case and report back to you regularly with the developments in your case.
Do I qualify for free advice and support?
In general terms, if you hold a valid passport from any country other than Turkey then you are considered to be a foreign citizen for the purposes of obtaining the full range of services of The Citizens Advice Centre free of charge. Check with one of our advisers for our up to date terms and conditions.
